Performance problems reported with 13-9100F and RX 7600
Hey everyone, how are you all? I’ve been facing some problems with my gaming PC after making a few changes. The last upgrade was a month ago—new case, SSD, keyboard, PSU and GPU. Once I reinstalled the system, I switched to Windows 10 Pro and updated all drivers via Driver Booster on Steam. My current specs are:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte H310M H.2.0
- CPU: Intel I3-9100F
- SSD: Kingston A400 960GB SATA
- M.2 RAM: HyperX Fury 2x8GB DDR4 2666MHz
- GPU: Gigabyte RX 7600 Gaming 8GB GDDR6
- Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE 750 Bronze V2 750W 80 Plus Bronze
So far it’s working, but when I start playing games, I notice the performance isn’t up to expectations. CS2 often stutters and crashes, regardless of video settings. The CPU usage stays at 100% and the GPU runs at a low frame rate—only 30-40%. Finals only hit 1080p. I think my CPU might be limiting things, but I can’t afford a new one or a new motherboard right now. I’m hoping to get a Ryzen 5 5600X and an Aorus Elite 550M soon, but in the meantime, any tips would be super helpful! Thanks!
It seems like your system is struggling mainly with the CPU, not just the GPU. Increasing detail settings might help, but a stronger CPU would make a bigger difference.
The i3 has only four cores with no hyperthreading support. I suggest switching to an i7-8700 or even i7-9700. The 8700 offers six cores and twelve threads, while the 9700 combines two 9100 chips into one. Both options would allow the RX 7600 to perform well.
