I haven't played the Witcher series before, but after watching many trailers online, I'm considering giving it a try. How do you feel about the game overall? Also, what are your expectations for the frame rate—do you think it should hover around 50 to 60 FPS on that resolution and settings?

The Witcher 1 and 2 were excellent titles. The Witcher 2 required a very capable PC to run at ultra 1080p. The Witcher 3 is still out, so we can't be sure if your setup will support it. Graphics have been significantly enhanced, making the game look better than before. I suggest trying the second one first to check your preference.

Maybe some of you noticed certain requirements or performance issues. Hmm, I might not be able to play it fully. I saw some reviews and gameplay on YouTube, but I think that’s not the vibe I’m used to. Witcher 3 seems different in my opinion—hope it turns out okay.

Hey, with an i7-4770 and a GTX 780, you should be able to play the game smoothly, as your setup is quite similar to mine (Xeon E3-1231v3 plus GTX 970).

I'm wrapping up Witcher 2 again as I gear up for 3. It's really enjoyable and the series feels distinct—more challenging, with deeper crafting and potion systems in certain areas, and a strong focus on storytelling. 3 promises an expansive open world spanning multiple continents, shifting from the smaller, more linear mini-worlds of 2 to a broader experience. Still, a playthrough of 2 is worthwhile since 3 keeps its toughness and complexity, which can deter some players. And honestly, a 780 should comfortably run at 60 frames per second (likely on high settings) in 1080p.

Check this link to see if your setup meets the game's needs. It will tell you whether you can run the game at full power and what system specs are required. Looks like you might need a powerful machine for the best experience.

Achieve smooth performance with Witcher 3 at high to very high settings while maintaining 1080p at 60fps. Explore the original vision behind CD Projekt with this title. The subsequent Witcher installment falls short, though the final game is impressive. I plan to purchase a 380x for that title and push it to maximum settings at 1080p consistently.
