Hi Everyone. I secured a solid offer on a Ryzen 5 5600X and upgraded from my Ryen 5 3600. Benchmark data shows improvements across various titles at full settings, ray tracing disabled, 1080P resolution. No performance boosts compared to what’s listed online. My setup includes: RAM – Asrock X470 Gaming K4 (16GB, 3600Mhz), GPU – RTX 3070, PSU – 750watt. I’m considering swapping the CPU for a refund tomorrow if you can help me out beforehand.
Well, Red Dead 2 seems to struggle quite a bit on AMD processors for certain reasons. The RTX 3070 isn't ideal for 1080p performance; it tends to drop significantly at higher resolutions, such as 4K. The main point is that these 5000 series CPUs can be overclocked much more effectively than before. Make sure you're using the stock cooler—otherwise, look for ways to boost its speed by increasing MHz. If your previous CPU had precision boost enabled and yours doesn't, adjust it in BIOS so it adapts clock speeds according to thermal conditions.
I activated Precision Boost but didn’t notice a noticeable improvement.
It looks unusual. I upgraded from a R5 3600X to the 5600X and saw a significant improvement in frame rates, especially at 1080p with most games running at 30-50 FPS. My system specs include an ASUS ROG B550-E 5600X, a TUF 3070 OC, 16GB RAM, and 3200MB of storage.
