If this resolves the issue, I’ll shower you with affection! Smile It was a surprise to me that an SSD required drivers, beyond the ones already included within Windows 10.

I’ve enjoyed numerous shooter games throughout my gaming history, and my graphics settings within the NVIDIA control panel are typically optimized for peak performance.

Maintaining maximum performance should be constant, regardless of circumstances. This practice consistently forces the Nvidia graphics card to operate at its highest speed continuously, hindering proper cooling during breaks between scenes or when the card is inactive. It doesn't actually improve performance, but instead limits it to a sustained elevated speed.

Experiencing similar difficulties with several titles, my hardware specifications are detailed in my profile. I suspect the recent Turing graphics architecture from Nvidia is causing these issues—when I replaced a previous Pascal card with another, the games performed as expected. Interestingly, my 2080 graphics card has required two return requests (RMAs), along with a motherboard and power supply unit replacement. It appears we may need to wait for updated drivers to resolve this situation.

My father experienced the same problem with his RTX 2070; he simply needed to install MSI Afterburner, create a personalized fan profile, and that resolved the issue.

My graphics card is an RTX 2080 TI, and I experience zero lag in games. It’s possible you should verify that you’re running the newest drivers.
