Hi everyone! I’m experiencing lower than expected performance with my new GPU. I switched from a 2060 Super to a 5070TI and was hoping for smooth gameplay at 100fps or more with all settings turned up. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations, and I’m unsure if the issue lies with the GPU itself.

Take RDR2 as an example: at 1440p with everything maxed out, I managed around 90fps in open areas, dropping to 60-70 in smaller villages like strawberry fields.
GTA V ENHANCED: 59-70fps in the city when all RT and settings are at maximum 1440p.
AC SHADOWS: +120fps with frame generation, all ultra. Without it... around 55-60fps at 1440p.
Oblivion Remaster: +120fps with stutters when using Hardware RT and all settings maxed, but 45fps in the open world without it.

I’m really struggling. Thanks for any advice or support you can offer.

This is my full system setup:
RTX ZOTAC SOLID SSF 5070TI
I79700K
MSI MPG Z390 GAMING EDGE AC
WD Blue SN550 NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB
Kingston HyperX DDR4 2666 C16 2x16GB
CM 750W BRONZE

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
CM 750W BRONZE is the model you're referring to, with 750W and Bronze efficiency ratings. Could you clarify the model number and the age of your power supply unit?

I upgraded from a 2060 Super to a 5070TI and was hoping to achieve smooth performance above 100fps with all settings at maximum. Did you use DDU to uninstall all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then install the newest driver from Nvidia's support site manually?

Please mention the operating system you're using. If you're on Windows 11, let me know your specific version. Also, could you share the BIOS version of your motherboard?

Kingston HyperX DDR4 2666 C16 2x16GB
The ideal configuration for your setup would have been a dual-channel tight latency setup with DDR4-3200MHz to DDR4-3600MHz. This could have provided a small FPS improvement.

Thank you for your reply.
I don't know the precise model of the PSU, but I can say it's more than ten years old.
Yes, I'm using DDU.
Windows 11 24H2
I haven't updated the BIOS, but dxdiag shows A.60.

I don't know the precise model of the PSU, but I have to admit it's more than ten years old. You might consider removing the side panels from your case and sharing pictures of the labeled sides. You can upload them to a platform like Imgur and share the link here, or you can provide the sticker information directly.

Regarding the age of the device, a decade ago Coolermaster units were something to steer clear of. Sigh...it seems you're heading toward purchasing another GPU at this pace.

Oh. I will check for that PSU info, but the card is under warranty and special warrant also from the store, i guess ill be fine if something does happen to the card. The 2060 and a 1060 worked well for years with this PSU...
You mean my gpu can be fried already?
Edit:
Cooler Master GX - 750W 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply (RS750-ACAAD3-US)
thats the PSU

I think the 5070 Ti is current, but the rest of your setup is quite old and could be holding you back.

I previously owned an i7-9700k, then upgraded to an i9-13900k and most recently to a Ryzen 9950X3D. After each upgrade, I noticed better average frame rates and less stuttering compared to before. The i7-9700k was adequate for its time, but now you’ll need a more capable processor for high refresh rate 1440p gaming. You should also consider replacing your PSU—it’s outdated and low quality, which could harm your new GPU. A good replacement like the Corsair RM750x is affordable.
