My computer works well enough, so I’m confused why it keeps smoother at 144 fps in Overwatch 2 and didn’t do that in Overwatch 1 either. It stayed steady until I entered a fight, then everything dropped and I couldn’t react because everything felt unstable. All my settings were either off or on unnecessarily. Anyone have ideas? My specs are: i9-10850K with 4.8GHz, ASUS Maximus XII hero motherboard, 32GB DDR4 RAM, G.Skill 3000MHz, ASUS Strix 3080Ti OC plus a 1080p 144Hz monitor, and the game is installed on an M.2 SSD.

Overwatch 2 came out six days ago, so top-quality driver updates might be delayed.

Update drivers and ensure the GPU is properly configured. The game was recently released and might have bugs. Run it using the default or maximum graphical options. Since 1080p is already a limitation, keeping settings low will help avoid further issues.

It does appear that there is a driver update that's meant for OW2. Whether it fixes the issue is a different question, but doesn't hurt to try.

Upgrading to a 240Hz monitor can improve refresh rate performance, potentially enhancing smoothness and responsiveness for gaming or creative work.

It should eliminate the issue with your decision-making block. Uncertain about whether Overwatch 2 will improve things, though.

Adjust the display options to lower the resolution from high to medium. This reduces the load on the GPU and eases the strain on the CPU. Usually, you shouldn't run OW2 in 4K quality.
