Started with Far Cry 4 but planning to try it before the new release. My hardware is top-tier—1440p display, R7 1800x (3.9GHz), then 1080Ti. While gaming CPUs aren’t usually the main issue, I suspect BIOS updates and optimizations have improved performance. I’m concerned about a possible bottleneck when loading new objectives or restarting after cutscenes, where FPS drops sharply from 80 to 30 and there are occasional stutters in combat. Adjusting settings from Very High to Low or Medium doesn’t help. Could the 1800x resolution be limiting older titles? COD:WW2 is running smoothly at 130-160 FPS on top settings.

Launch Task Manager to check the CPU usage during operation. If it reaches 100%, the issue likely lies with the CPU. Reducing CPU-intensive settings (not GPU-heavy ones) should improve performance. The timing of the game's release doesn't matter—what matters is the engine and intensity. COD might be more optimized than Far Cry 4.

The performance chart showed the CPU consistently around 30%, while the GPU stayed near 60%.

It's 1440p and the CPU shouldn't be the problem. Also, FC4 appears to be a poorly received release from Ubisoft.

Ubisoft keeps making the same mistakes. I’ve faced similar problems with Watch Dogs lately.

Because the game engine always uses just one core, regardless of the situation. I have 1700x 4GHz 3200MHz RAM and a 1080Ti processor.

Is your GPU consumption decreasing? If so, that suggests a CPU limitation.

Well...it varies depending on the situation, but it's typically between 45 to 60% in this game. I've checked other discussions about the problem since I first shared it, and I believe the main reason is inefficient optimization.
