I play the game on a high-resolution monitor and achieve around 100 average frames per second at the Ultra setting in the built-in test. The lowest I see is 53 FPS. In Corpo Plaza, one of the most active zones, I reach up to 55 FPS, but drops stay below 40 FPS regardless of graphics options. I suspect a CPU limitation, though I’m confident the 3900X should handle at least 60 FPS. Am I misjudging my CPU performance? My system specs are: 1440p display, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, RTX 3070, 16GB RAM (2 sticks), MSI B350 PC Mate 750W power supply. The game runs smoothly on an HDD, with CPU and GPU temperatures consistently under 65°C.

This setup isn't ideal—it has slow storage, limited RAM, and weak VRMs. No surprise the frame rate drops. Have you checked how the 3070 performs in that game? 100fps at 1440p seems impressive, and 60fps in busy areas makes sense. Using an HDD will likely cause more texture loading delays, combined with slow RAM, leading to choppy gameplay. Weak VRMs shouldn’t be a major issue unless the game uses many cores. Also, 3900x is fine; the real concern is performance under load.

I use a 3700x setup, which doesn’t limit me, so I don’t think the CPU is the problem. As @SavageNeo mentioned, your RAM, SSD, or motherboard might be the bottleneck, or it could be a mix of all three.

Your performance is what you can anticipate. It's a demanding game. What do you think causes the CPU slowdown? I'd point to RAM first before the CPU. Welcome to the discussion.

Absolutely, Ryzen with Infinity Fabric works well. The 3600 is a great match for the 3000 series. Adding an SSD will probably boost performance, especially for loading speeds, and they're now quite affordable.

Timings matter too—lower is better, especially for CL16, though 18 will still function fine. If you have a high-performance cooler, ensure there’s enough space for the RAM to sit underneath without issues. Low-profile RAM is designed to fit under large air coolers with minimal clearance.
