Last month I assembled my initial gaming/content build with an AMD 7700X and an RTX 4080. Despite this, I’ve observed some performance hiccups in certain titles, while others run smoothly. My full component list is available here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/NCC-1701-D/saved/wTNvRB. In Warzone 2 my frame rate usually stays around 90fps, with minor dips near 50fps. I can tweak various graphics options and features such as DLSS, yet the performance remains consistent even at lower settings. CPU and GPU usage never exceed 50%, and temperatures hover around 40°C on the GPU and about 70°C on the CPU. VRAM consumption stays under 16 GB, while RAM usage is roughly 20 GB. Other titles experiencing similar problems include Sea Of Thieves Jedi Survivor (with the latest patch), Fortnite, Halo Infinite (all set to High/Ultra, ray tracing enabled), and Doom Eternal. Conversely, Modern Warfare 2019 Jedi Fallen Order, Halo Wars 2, and Doom Eternal deliver excellent results. Some troubleshooting steps I’ve tried: I’m running a fresh Windows 11 installation, using the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver version, and adjusting graphics settings manually. I’ve also used GeForce Now’s auto-settings and attempted DDU to reinstall the GPU driver. AMD EXPO is active, and only a few background programs are running—MS Defender, Armoury Create, Steam, and iCloud. This machine has been great overall, but this issue has made several games nearly unplayable. Appreciate your assistance ahead of time.

Hey there! You might want to look for a BIOS update. Also, it seems Armory Crate is definitely a messy piece of software.

Eliminate all unnecessary tasks and launch Afterburner to check core usage. It seems the problem might be related to the CPU.

My BIOS is using a December version. I need to update it, but I'm a bit nervous because this is my first time doing it. I might try removing Armoury Crate and also delete some Asus apps. Others suggest checking Game Bar capture settings or a CPU issue could be the cause. I don't know what's going on.

I removed every Asus program and numerous other files, and it had no impact on performance.

There seems to be a performance hiccup with your GPU. It's showing massive VRAM consumption around 15G+, and you're running at 4K resolution. If the issue is related to VRAM, lowering texture settings might help. If power constraints are the problem, it should remain consistent across games or shut down entirely. It's odd behavior—could you check GPU-Z for any limits or warnings?

I have a 1440p display and the in-game options are configured for 1440p with 85% VRAM consumption. I can lower the graphics quality, but CPU and GPU usage will remain at 40%. The first image shows a match using the lowest settings. The other images and files correspond to a match at Ultra Settings. My power supply is rated for 850W. None of the games I've tried have crashed. GPU-Z Sensor Log.txt

This appears to be a CPU limitation visible in the screenshots. Try running Furmark with higher configurations—modern GPUs often handle it better without hitting maximum settings—and observe if the GPU usage increases. If Furmark reaches its limits, it suggests the issue lies on the CPU side. Games usually don’t fully utilize all CPU threads, making a bottleneck harder to detect. Maintaining consistent frame rates across different video settings further indicates a CPU constraint. Once confirmed, you can explore fixes.

My FurMark scores show a strong performance. The GPU usage reaches 96% while achieving 383 frames per second.

GPU-Z shows voltage regulation under perfcap, which points to a GPU configuration problem—did you accidentally underclock or overclock the card?
