Hey there! I'm trying to figure out why my multiplayer games keep dropping to around 30 FPS when everything else is running smoothly. Singleplayer games are mostly fine, but even small titles like Robocraft feel tough. It's weird since Star Wars Battlefront works just as well on Ultra as BF1 singleplay. My specs look solid: GTX 1060, 6GB i5, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB SSD, Windows 10. I've reset everything and checked temperatures, but nothing seems to fix it. A friend with a similar rig (8GB RAM in dual channel) runs all these games at 60fps. Could dual channel really make such a difference? Any tips or resources would be super helpful! Thanks a lot!

Have you checked the CPU, GPU, disk, SSD, or RAM for performance issues?

Use rivatuner for real-time monitoring during gaming sessions. Check your internet speed for optimal performance.

Your board uses the latest BIOS versions. It has recent improvements for PCI-E speed and CPU efficiency.

the processor reaches high usage frequently during Planetside 2 and Battlefield 1... the ram stays near full capacity most of the time while playing... but it seems like it shouldn't be that way... at least not on low settings... that’s what confuses me... it’s generally fine, I suppose... I usually set my speed to a maximum of 2Mb/s and maintain good ping in all games... I’m not very tech-savvy, but I haven’t updated anything, which is definitely a factor!

Well, it's strange what happened. I thought I was keeping an eye on the GPU, CPU, and RAM using Riva, but surprisingly only the GPU reached full capacity. The CPU and RAM looked normal until then. Now I see they were under heavy use in the Task Manager. It’s confusing—I’m not sure how to proceed. Edit: On Planetside, the CPU is still maxing out and RAM is at 7000MB, yet it shouldn’t be that tough to run these games on low settings. Are you really needing an i7+16GB with 1600MHz RAM for them?

Planetside isn't really well optimized for performance. You don't require 16 gigabytes just to play games. Try boosting the page file if it helps. If that works, perhaps a RAM upgrade would be better. The CPU seems okay. What's your GPU temperature while playing?

Boosted the pagefile usage, which appeared to assist with Planetside. My GPU reaches temperatures above 50°C.
