I have a PC with an i7-3770k and two GTX 980s using SLI. When playing CS:GO, my frame rate is only around 200 FPS, sometimes dropping to about 100. I get higher FPS in BF4 at 2560x1440 Ultra compared to CS:GO, which suggests something might be off. Can anyone assist me?

Additionally, it's important to remember that on my previous machine with an i5 4690K and two 970s in SLI, I achieved a steady 500+ FPS.

Adjust your graphics options to a lower setting. The change should be imperceptible.

Did you attempt to push a specific number of threads when launching CSGO? Try adding '-threads 8' to the start command to ensure it uses eight cores.

The chip only features four processing units, but you've heard about hyperthreading—what does that actually help with?

CS:GO doesn't work with SLi, and you're playing at a higher resolution.

The i7 series supports hyperthreading, allowing four physical cores to function as eight logical cores. This means your processor can manage tasks more effectively, delivering improved performance in CPU-heavy applications such as rendering or games like CSGO. By default, an i7 with hyperthreading enables up to eight threads.
