Performance is significantly lower than expected for the RTX 3070.
I performed several tests and the results indicate my system is underperforming relative to similar machines. The graphics unit appears to be the bottleneck, even though it runs smoothly in games with higher settings. I noticed a noticeable drop when streaming YouTube videos of games on this setup, while other configurations handle them well. Recently, I added Horizon Forbidden West and still managed around 40 FPS at low resolution. There are signs something might be amiss, but I’m unsure what else to investigate. Any advice or insights from others who faced similar issues would be appreciated. I purchased this graphics card at the start of last year, though it had been used before. It’s a version of Gainward (Phoenix) with LHR support. Could it be that prior use for mining has worn out the GPU, leading to reduced performance? Are there any self-tests or checks I can run myself? I followed all basic steps from Reddit recommendations: drivers are up-to-date, BIOS is current, RAM XMP enabled, video drivers removed, and resizable bar turned on. Despite these, FPS stayed low. No issues or errors have appeared—just consistently poor GPU performance compared to similar builds with the same components. Here are all the links I’ve gathered so far: Passmark results, GPU-Z analysis, benchmark images, and CPUZ data.
