Hello, I've noticed some issues with my gaming lately. In certain areas I achieved high FPS (120-144), but in crowded city zones it dropped to 50-70. Interestingly, both CPU and GPU usage decreased when I looked at the surroundings, yet when I focused on my feet, my performance improved significantly along with increased CPU and GPU activity. Some games stopped being enjoyable due to this problem, so I'm adding them to my list of suspected games with major FPS drops. I'm planning an upgrade to a R5 3700X and a B450M MORTAR MAX MMO card because of these challenges. Suspected games: Borderlands 3 (and Tow during fights, where FPS fell from 120 to 50), Ultra settings Euro Truck Simulator (FPS drops from 135-144 to 70 in cities), Dishonored 2 (similar issues with Borderlands and Outer Worlds), Metro Exodus (train view on Volga reduces FPS), Rotrr (same advice about RAM, still struggling at 144Hz), and Ultra settings for other titles. It's odd that my CPU and GPU usage drop when FPS decreases, as they spike when rendering is minimal. My setup: 144Hz 24" 1080p monitor, AMD 20.2.2 Ryzen 5 2600 (47°C idle, 70-80 under load), 33°C ambient, RX 5700 XT (50°C idle, 70-85 under load). I'm using an AMD A320 MSI motherboard with TeamGoo SSD and a WD HDD spinning at 7200 RPM.
Yes, MCE is activated and there is an ABY OC running on your GPU.
The improvement relates to your CPU and often increases the voltage excessively. This could cause your CPU to slow down due to the strain. Consider checking it and turning it off if needed. Edited March 20, 2020 by TofuHaroto
I'll look into it later regarding the bios, but isn't this exclusive to Intel?
