She’s using a Ryzen 5 1600X with an MSI B350 Tomahawk just after turning it on last night. It keeps reaching 4.3GHz and the temperatures climb to 80-90°C. I asked her about the voltage readings during boost, and they’re over 1.4V. This is really problematic because she can’t play any games. Even at idle, it’s running around 50°C despite forcing the CPU frequency to 99% in Windows Power Settings. She’s also tried adjusting the fan curve in MSI Click BIOS 5, but the settings stay frozen like a static image.
It appears the problem is likely related to heat management. That’s quite intense, isn’t it? I’m not sure what the exact temperature was for the older Ryzen models.
