I tested my latest 3800x configuration on UserBench today. The benchmark performed well for general workloads, placing the CPU in the 93rd percentile. However, memory latency seemed elevated. After checking HWinfo, I noticed the RAM was set to 3600 MHz manually, yet it didn’t reflect the advertised speeds—especially since XMP wasn’t enabled. The reported timings were 3600MHz, 26-25-25-58, which were poor. Once I switched on XMP, the motherboard updated the memory settings to 18-22-22-42. Running the test again showed a significant drop in CPU performance, falling to the 7th percentile. The GPU and RAM scores also declined. Removing the XMP profile and rerunning the benchmark restored results, with both CPU and GPU returning to near their original speeds.
