Performance drops on Windows when GPU reaches full capacity.
High-end specs Windows 10 pro x64 5950x 32gb Trident Z Neo 3080ti EVGA FTW3 Hybrid 1000w GPU on 1000w power supply. The system is way beyond what’s needed for everyday tasks, and in games it performs adequately. However, pushing the GPU to full capacity causes noticeable lag—everything slows to around 10fps or less. This makes streaming impossible and multitasking unfeasible.
Reduce the adjustments or enable V-sync even when performance is at its peak, as it may cause issues if pushed to its limits
the same behavior is not present on my old slower PC. When it's maxed out on GPU it still streams smoothly, and windows doesn't lag. Like it knows how to manage multitasking properly. But yes, this is a work around, using afterburner or something to make the FPS low enough to account for overhead, but that doesn't always work.
Current BIOS updates, latest chipset driver releases, and questions about FTPM and Secure Boot.
I just refreshed the bios information, but I double-checked for accuracy—it looked current. For fun, I launched the gigabyte bios tool to see if it showed fTPM and Secure Boot status. It didn’t list either, though it did mention a recent update that wasn’t on the site. That clarified things a lot. I’m aware Secure Boot is enabled, but Windows keeps pushing me toward Windows 11 (it won’t if you disable Secure Boot). FTPM remains unclear, which is still a bit confusing but not too bad. I’ll keep digging.
