Perform tasks from various office spots
In december we’re moving to a larger space with about six workstations. Previously, each desk had one computer, but now we’ll have flexibility—switching spots easily like a movable table. Currently we have four i7 7700 machines, two of which run Quadros for basic AutoCAD tasks. Most work will use MS Office and specific calculation tools, but we’ll also run a lightweight AutoCAD version for installation drawings. No heavy upgrades needed unless it’s essential. We should consider remote desktop access to the existing PCs or explore other options?
We're located in the same building, so no remote work required. Storage is already managed via OneDrive.
Arrange the four desktops on four seats, then allocate additional computers for the remaining ones. Ensure each person has access to a workstation so everyone can use them.
We completed that in 7 days. However, the profiles became too large and it looks like W10 doesn't support this feature.
Consider evaluating a remote desktop setup (such as Teamviewer) on a high-performance laptop to test if your WiFi and hardware can handle real-world office work. At first, the idea of CoWs (mobile computers) came to mind—commonly used in hospitals and ICUs. However, they may lack the power needed for demanding tasks, though you can likely adapt them to suit your needs.
