I've been too relaxed letting AI Suite handle my overclocking (guess what, I know). Now I really want to tweak my 8700K myself. After researching the BIOS and watching some tutorials, I feel overwhelmed more than helped. The first thing that bothers me is this board doesn’t just let you use an XMP profile or manually adjust the CPU speed. When I open AI Tweaker, I have to turn off XMP and switch to manual mode. From what I’ve seen, that means I also need to manually tweak the RAM. It seems a bit confusing. I keep reading about AVX offsets, load line settings, and all the usual hacks to get the best overclock. Every time I think I understand, I end up confused again when I actually enter the BIOS. Anyone with experience overclocking this board would appreciate the advice. Thanks in advance.

Adjusting RAM manually for XMP speeds is straightforward—they display the specifications on the DIMM side. Simply input the required voltage, speed, and main timings, leaving other settings as default. An AVX offset reduces performance by applying a negative multiplier when handling AVX tasks. For example, running at 5GHz with an offset of 2 results in a real-world speed of about 4.8GHz. It’s better to determine the maximum speed your chip can achieve on any benchmark and stick with that. Load Line Calibration acts as a vDroop counter; it tracks voltage drops during load. The system compensates by applying a higher voltage than you set, preventing instability. Finding this balance is essential, but once you understand your motherboard’s behavior, adjustments become manageable. Optimizing for optimal OCs also means tuning the cache, which can boost low-speed performance and overall responsiveness.

It's good to know I'll need to secure my DIMMs for that. This is intriguing—nothing I've read or seen before mentioned cache. I wonder if it's normal for everyone to use different approaches when overclocking, but now I'm not sure what steps to take.
