Hello there. I just moved my build into a Corsair 5000D Airflow and swapped out the fans for all Corsair QL 120s. It’s working well most of the time, but occasionally the fans increase their speed unexpectedly and become noisy. This tends to happen while browsing or doing light work. I understand it shouldn’t be this way since it usually runs smoothly for hours, yet it gets loud. I’ve adjusted the fan curve to a quieter setting, and temperatures stay around 45°C during these spikes. With the curve I set, fans shouldn’t rise until 70°C. I attached a screenshot from an HWMonitor while it was running. The CPU fan still reads 800, and I’m confused about what the AUXFan setting does. I have six fans total: three front, two on top (connected to 240 rad), and one at the back. All are linked through the included fanhub, which connects to the CPU fan header on the motherboard. Could this be related? I’m pretty sure it’s connected to a PWM header and should function normally, but I’m not sure. Here are my full specs: i7-7700K, Asus Maximus Hero IX, 1080ti, 16GB G.Skill TridentZ RAM, ASUS PCIe Wi-Fi card, Seagate Barracuda HDD, a few M.2 drives, and an ASUS WiFi card. Turn off quick startup and see if it resolves any issues. Attempt to run Windows troubleshooter—it may point to a Windows-related issue. While I understand the preference for fans connected via header, it shouldn't be a major concern. The most probable cause seems to be Windows or a faulty fan hub. Consider scanning your PC using cmd -> sfc /scannow.
