Peltier (TEC) GPU Cooling
Peltier (TEC) GPU Cooling
I tried testing my Rx 580 with a 300w TEC between the GPU core and an arctic accelerometer cooler. The extra 3mm doesn’t bother me, though it’s not for regular use—it’s mainly for overclocking and benchmarking. I’m not planning a custom water loop or dry ice setup. The TEC controller I have includes a temperature probe, but I’m wondering if there’s a direct way to read the card’s core temperature without a probe. Would it be possible to connect the xfx Rx 580 directly to the TEC controller using GPUUtil (gpuz) for temperature output instead of relying on the built-in probe?
The sole method involves positioning the temperature sensor between the GPU and the Peltier element.
