I am trying to add a usb c card to my motherboard and there isnt space under the gpu and the bottom of the case to fit the card directly into the bottom x16 slot. The card has a pcie x2 connection, and i cant find x2 riser cables. Will it work to connect a x2 card with a x4 riser cable to a x16 slot? All gen 3.

What motherboard you choose, which graphics card fits, and which USB-C card will work together.

Asus TUF Gaming B550M Plus Wi-Fi 3070 features the first PCIe slot (Gen4 x16). Here’s a link to the USB-C card I’m looking at for the second PCIe slot (Gen3 x16): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZPZH6N5/ref...UTF8&psc=1

Using PCIe usually succeeds about 99% of the time. Problems appear only when the motherboard and card don’t match or when the riser card is Gen3 while the board and card are Gen4. The latter can be resolved by adjusting the link speed in the BIOS settings.

The USB-C card should fit into the bottom x16 port.
