Hello, I hope someone can assist me. I recently set up a new system in June with the following components: MSI B650M-P / 7800X3D / MSI 4060 VENTUS BLACK 2X OC 8GB / Corsair 32GB 6000mhz / Corsair RM750X / WD SN850X / Windows 11 (now on 24H2). I keep everything current, using the latest non-beta BIOS with default settings except for enabling expo and fan curves. Except for occasional boot problems during hard power cuts (likely due to expo and memory retraining), the system has run perfectly. Yesterday marked my first game run with PoE2 using DX12 as the default, and I observed only 40-50fps averages regardless of GPU settings. My GPU stays at 70-80% load and 10-20% CPU usage, yet performance remains stable. I’ve mainly played DX11 or indie titles like BG3 and XIV, which reached 4K at 60fps with DLSS, so I didn’t suspect deeper issues. After extensive research, I discovered the GPU-Z and NCP tools indicate my 4060 only lists PCIE x1 4.0 under load, not the expected x8 4.0. I reinstalled drivers and adjusted settings but couldn’t resolve it. Today, testing at a friend’s was straightforward—his 4060 showed x8 4.0 immediately, confirming the issue isn’t with his rig. I then tried using a different BIOS version and even set it to PCIE Gen 4, but results were identical. I’m considering flashing BIOS updates or switching to a newer motherboard, though I’d rather avoid reverting to slower versions. Online reports suggest similar problems with PCIE lane misreporting during sleep, which may have been fixed in a prior BIOS update. I’ve also experimented with auto-BIOS, but it didn’t help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated—I’m trying to figure this out before replacing the card. I’m also curious if my performance has always been adequate, given my ability to hit 60fps in DX11 games.
