Hey everyone, I’m trying to upgrade my Asus Z9PE-D8 WS with M.2 drives, but it doesn’t have any M.2 slots. I thought I could use the PCIe lanes and some adapters, but it feels like a waste of space. I’m considering the Asus Hyper M.2 card, but I’m not sure if my board supports dual-channel or if the port layout matches what’s listed. I’m a bit puzzled by the bios and need some clarification on which slots correspond to which ports.

It would be wise to keep the settings active, since they generally handle identifying installed cards effectively.

The auto options allow switching between PCIe Gen1, Gen2, and Gen3. For the port, I need to pick X16 or X8/X8 or X4/X4/X4/X4 manually.

Contacted Asus to find out if they could provide more details, checked their website manual and noticed the settings weren't listed.

This approach seems to have some issues. The setup described doesn't align with the hardware configuration you mentioned. Adjustments might be needed for slot compatibility and PCIe version requirements.

You can use software RAID through Disk Manager.

Alternatively, place it in slot 1 or 3; that way you won’t need slot 2 or 4 since the system automatically switches to an 8x8 configuration.

Hey, I don't have enough info to determine the exact BIOS version. Could you share more details about the device or any error messages you're seeing?
