Pci express risers
Pci express risers
Hi, I'm checking if it's feasible to link the PCIe risers to PSU2 while connecting all four GPUs to PSU2. Currently, the main PSU1 only supplies power to the mainboard, as the rig is about 90cm long and the cards are installed closest to PSU2. I believe the idea would be to use PSU1 for the PCIe risers and connect the GPUs from there, while PSU2 handles the power for the remaining cards. I'm considering whether it's better to power the PCIe risers from PSU1 and supply GPUs 1-2-3-4 via PSU1, and the rest through PSU2. All components are connected via the same power sources on PSU2. The cards aren't starting properly—only one card is booting. In Windows Device Manager it displays only one card, and in CCminer as well. The setup has space for around 11 cards, with ASRock H110 Btc+ as the motherboard model and GPUs from Nvidia 1060 to 1080 series. Please advise.
That is a serious Build you got there. If you think its a PSU issue do as you were stating unplug everyone of them. Slowly hook each one up at a time and boot up the PC each time to see if they start and if Windows will Recognize the GPU's. Keep doing it till you get a Failure. If you do then yeah it could very well be a PSU issue.
So for instance hook up Card#1 and boot it up see if it starts. Then see if windows sees it. Turn off pc
Hook up card#1 and #2 and repeat the process and continue the hook up process.
I'll wait a moment. Please hold on.
It seems really crazy with this setup.
Card in GPUslot # 5 - 6 small gtx 1060s are disconnected because I'm wondering if I should use a third PSU. It's now around 2000W, but I don't have the tools to check the power usage. I'm curious why only 7 cards are working and not more. I think I need an extra PSU!
