Hey there, curious builder! I'm checking if anyone has found PCI 4.0 splitters with 16x to 2x scaling for your Thredripper project. You're aiming for six GPUs and need the right cables or boards, but it seems like those specific features aren't widely available yet. Let me know if you'd like help exploring alternatives!

Avoid trying to separate a PCI slot. You'd require a system that accommodates six GPUs, resulting in a project cost exceeding $10,000.

The motherboard must accommodate a capability called bifurcation, typically found only on servers or premium desktops. The few options you'll encounter won't be ribbon cables but a solid PCB with 2 or 3 openings. I've learned that some enterprise AICs can split the slot for this purpose, but it's unlikely you can modify one to fit your needs. It's safer to choose a board with the exact slot count you require. If you're determined, I could suggest a workaround, though results would be uncertain.
