PCE 4.0 problems following NVMe replacement Swap NVMe components and encounter PCE 4.0 issues
You're facing challenges with your RTX 4090 setup, experiencing issues like black screens or unstable performance when using PCIe 3.0. It sounds like the problem might be related to your motherboard or power supply rather than the GPU itself. You've already tried different NVMe drives and power cable configurations, but the issue persists. Many users report similar concerns about PCIe version compatibility affecting stability, even though gaming performance is generally unaffected. It's understandable to feel frustrated after investing in a high-end component like this. If you're still unsure, consider reaching out to the manufacturer for specific guidance or checking community forums for similar experiences.
All NVMe drives have been verified as Gen 4 using CrystalDiskInfo, which means it isn't the cause of the problem.
Additionally attempted to revert the BIOS to an earlier version, but the same problem persists... it's quite unusual since the card functions perfectly at 3.0. After cleaning with DDU first and re-seating the CPU, RAM, and GPU just in case, I also swapped the 12V power cable to the included adapter. I'm running out of options except testing the card on another system or vice versa. I'm hoping it's not the card itself, as it remains functional and benchmarks still align with average results. The PCI 4.0 issue is particularly bothersome now.
