Pc wont boot
Hello everyone,
I attempted to install a new 2 tb m.2 drive in my PC. I shut down the computer and removed power, then took out the existing 256 m.2 drive (which was formatted before shutting down) and installed the new drive. After setting up all drives, they appear in the BIOS under storage information, but I can't select the operating system drive to boot from, so Windows won't start. I tried removing the 2 tb drive again and everything returned to normal, yet it's still unresolved. My current installation is on a 1 tb m.2 drive, and the motherboard is an ASUS Z590 A.
Just attempted deleting all other drives except the 1tb drive with a window. It appears in the BIOS as a 1tb drive in storage details, but no choices exist to set it as a boot drive. Boot priority remains blank.
I decided to restore everything to its original state and give it another shot. I reinserted the 256gb (formatted) drive into the motherboard. When the PC started, everything functioned normally and Windows booted up. I double-checked to confirm that the drive I removed was indeed the formatted one, which it was. This particular issue is confusing and doesn’t make sense. Any advice?
