PC waterloop cleaning with Prestone Radiator Flush+cleaner
Hi,
I'm considering using Prestone Flush+Cleaner for cleaning my PC water loop and radiators. It's a radiator cleaner originally made for cars, but I think it could also work for PC radiators... what do you think? Check the link below.
Consider that car radiators are typically made of aluminum, especially in aluminum block engines. They aren't meant for brass or copper radiators you usually purchase for computers (unless you have an all-aluminum setup). The reason might be related to corrosion issues. Most people use a mild vinegar solution or a bit of dish soap, followed by thorough water flushing. There are also specialized cleaning kits available from water cooling companies.
Cool dude, my radiator and blocks mostly keep copper and brass for fittings, I left the aluminium out because of issues it causes, but I’ll use a 10% vinegar and 90% water solution for cleaning. I’m planning to post another thread about my flushing method and welcome any feedback.
