PC was acting strange after my very first OC experience.
Hi
Build details: i5-6600k (new), ASUS Rampage VIII Ranger (new), CM Hyper 212 (new), MSI GTX 970 4gb, Hyperx fury black 16gb (new), 120gb Samsung SSD, 2 tb Seagate Barracuda HDD. Recently upgraded to Windows 10.
Yesterday I experienced issues with sound and video not playing for about 15-20 minutes after overclocking the CPU. I changed the multiplier in BIOS from 4.1 to 3.9 on my Skylake i5-6600k and restarted the PC, which resolved the problem. About an hour later, when I opened Star Wars Battlefront, the screen started showing a snowy effect, likely due to the HDMI cable not being fully seated. After checking the cable and reattaching it, the issue disappeared.
I haven’t adjusted any other settings besides the BIOS multiplier, as I’m not planning high overclocking. Is this the cause? Should I consider increasing the voltage?
During a RealBench test lasting 15 minutes, temperatures stayed below 40°C with the Hyper 212 air cooler. Any suggestions on possible causes? Could it be related to the overclock or Windows 10?
Recover the original CPU performance and observe any changes in behavior.
