PC VR with mild astigmatism?

I’m eager to begin using PC VR like SteamVR and Oculus. Likely I’ll end up with a Rift CV1, since I found a decent used model with the original receipt, which also gives me the warranty.
However, I was wondering if anyone has any insights about astigmatism and VR?
I tried VR on a BoboVR Z4 and Galaxy S6 first, but honestly I didn’t feel a strong connection to it. It seemed like my eyes were just staying on the screen without really immersing myself...
I wear glasses because I’m short-sighted (not too severe, though I can still see slightly blurry) and also have mild astigmatism, apparently...
Does this condition impact how I experience VR?
Thanks

When wearing glasses with the HTC vive (or the latest version), assuming your vision is corrected, it seems your VR experience shouldn't be affected. I'm uncertain about using glasses with the Rift S, as I recall it can be challenging for glasses wearers.

You have options such as glasses, contact lenses, or purchasing lenses for the main VR headsets available. Phone-based VR tends to be poor quality, missing key features like positional tracking.

I own a Vive and am nearsighted. With standard glasses I have no problems playing VR. If you use large glasses they might not fit properly (such as square shapes), but I usually wear slim rectangular ones without any issues.

Great thanks! I'll definitely give it a shot. If it doesn't work, I can always list it on eBay.

I am not very short-sighted, but I have bad astigmatism. I didn’t have any issues with VR on my Samsung S7. I didn’t need my glasses. I didn’t notice any tails from lights or beams from the screen. None of this:

Notice how this brings back doubts about my ability to immerse myself in VR. Perhaps it's not the issue of my astigmatism, but simply a lack of immersion in VR.

And there are no updates regarding this. I’m planning to buy a VR headset myself and have a bit of high astigmatism with values of -2,75 and -2,25, plus some mild farsightedness. I thought the latter might be less likely to cause problems since it seems relatively mild. Would this affect me? I’m excited to play VR and really want to enjoy it, but wearing glasses while using them isn’t something I’m comfortable with. Since I haven’t tried contacts yet, that would be a big change for me. I’m open to trying them, but they’re definitely pricey.
