PC Underperforming
PC Underperforming
Hello,
My computer is clearly struggling with performance. My hardware specifications are outdated. I've installed recent drivers, updated Windows 11, optimized the AMD card, refreshed the BIOS, enabled XMP settings, turned off energy mode on the PSU, and more.
I have an i7 13700k
Asus Strix B760-I Gaming Wi-Fi
32gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 (2x16) 6000 MHz
Sapphire Pulse 7900 XTX
XPG SX8200 Pro 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD
EVGA Supernova 850 PS
Be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
Running a Spectre 165 HZ 1920x1080 gaming monitor with AMD Freesync on both the screen and via AMD Adrenaline.
In GTA Online, at times I’m only achieving 110 fps when my settings are high, without any noticeable improvement when lowering graphics or using FSR for lower resolutions. In Fallout 76, I’m seeing 80-110 fps in small towns, whereas I expect at least 200 fps according to various sources. I’ve tried certain adjustments as recommended to resolve FPS problems.
During gaming sessions, my CPU usage stays around 20% and GPU around 55%, even at maximum settings.
I’m trying to find a solution so my PC runs as smoothly as possible. It’s causing me a lot of frustration. I’m aiming for around 165 HZ with stable performance across all games.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Do you have a link to this unit? How recent is it?
Attempt to use DDU to eliminate all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD) in Safe Mode, then reinstall manually with the newest driver from AMD's support site. Open the installer, right-click and select Run as Administrator.
BIOS updated and optimized
For clarity, please mention your BIOS version.
My apologies. Forgot to mention it was a P5. I read it incorrectly earlier. I noticed it was labeled P5 before that post but didn’t say it right. I hadn’t cleared the CMOS yet; I’ll check my BIOS. Do you think it’s better to clear CMOS before or after using DDU?
Got it. Clearing the CMOS now is on the agenda. The Mini ITX case fits snugly, and I won’t be posting updates for a while.
If performance remains stable when lowering graphics settings, it suggests your CPU might be the bottleneck. What is the model of your case? How is the cooling fan positioned? I think there could be a temperature problem. You have an ITX motherboard paired with a high-power graphics card. The Dark Rock Pro 4 works well but requires adequate airflow for optimal performance.
