He has a damaged motherboard and failed power supply. All fans are running but no response from the system. The motherboard appears to be faulty, but it's unclear whether the issue lies with the case or the components. Without another unit for testing, it's hard to pinpoint the exact problem.

For testing, swap the motherboard first since it's cheaper, and only change the CPU later if it remains non-functional.

That's what I assumed. Thanks for your assistance. I prefer not to just discard components when solving issues. If purchasing both would cost around $300, I'll check if an AM4 MOBO and a 5600x offer comparable performance with upgrade possibilities at a similar price.

I retrieved and checked his PSU, GPU, and RAM in the PC, along with the power cord and HDMI cable. I think I’ll need to wear my glasses for a closer inspection. Thanks for your assistance.
