We experienced several electricity problems in our neighborhood, including repeated power outages throughout the day. Following that, my PC began behaving erratically. Whenever I play Battlefield 2042, it suddenly stops completely as if someone turned off the power abruptly. I looked at the CPU and GPU temperatures and found they weren’t unusually high. I performed stress tests at full load for ten minutes each, and the CPU didn’t shut down. My wife works long hours in Microsoft Word and has no issues. However, only when I play Battlefield 2042 does the PC power off entirely.

The shutdown occurs only with the power button pressed on the CPU case, and a red LED below the motherboard remains lit. Pressing the power or restart button doesn’t get it running again. I need to disconnect the UPS and wait 10–20 minutes before attempting to restart the PC.

What might be causing this?
Could be GPU/CPU temperature throttling? My 3080 graphics card gets very hot during gaming (exceeding 98°C). This isn’t a new issue, as I’ve been using it for over a year.

Is there a problem with the PSU because of the power cut? But the stress test and low-power scenarios didn’t trigger any issues.

Could it be related to Windows forcing shutdowns during an outage?
Here are my system specs:
- Gigabyte 3080 Vision OC (not overclocked)
- Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1 TB
- Toshiba SATA 2 TB
- Cooler Master AIO
- 5600x (not overclocked)
- Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus
- Team Elite 8GB, 2400MHz DDR4 RAM x4
- Cooler Master 750 MWE Gold V2

Please help me.

Power surges are frequent in specific games but rarely reflected in benchmarks such as 3d mark, suggesting the power supply may have worn out. It's advisable to use an 850-watt unit even for a 3080.
