PC stops working during gameplay.
I assembled my machine roughly three weeks ago and it operated smoothly at first. Over time, the computer began powering off and restarting each time I launched a game—Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Skyrim, etc.—without any connection to temperature readings. In every session, it shuts down and restarts within seconds or minutes, regardless of heat levels. When it does turn off, the GPU stays under 65°C and the CPU remains below 55°C. I own an EVGA 1080ti with a Ryzen 6 1600 processor, stock cooler, and an EVGA 80+ Gold 650W power supply. Assistance needed! So far, I've attempted a clean NVIDIA driver install using DDU and disabled one audio driver (though it didn't help).
As discussed, everything functioned perfectly yesterday. I kept my PC stationary and didn’t interact with its components until today’s 2-hour gaming session in Witcher 3. Suddenly, it stopped abruptly. Now, when I attempt to launch any game, it powers down within moments—sometimes even seconds.
It might be another possibility, but it looks like that's the case. It's quite challenging to identify clearly. Your PSU emits a click when it powers down, which could help you figure it out.
It doesn't seem like a software issue if that's your goal. You might want to consider a fresh installation of Windows to confirm.
