Hello everyone. Recently, my PC started acting strangely. I’m wondering if it’s related to the motherboard. Here are the details: My system uses a Ryzen 9 5900X with a Corsair HX1000, paired with a Gigabyte RTX 3080 Ti and a Gigabyte Aorus Elite X570. It runs Windows 11 64-bit. The issue began one afternoon and has happened a few times since then: the computer would shut down unexpectedly, and I heard a click from the PSU, which I think indicates it tripped. After turning it back on, logging in, and restarting, it would fail again. Usually, I try reseating components, powering off multiple times, and letting the BIOS reset. Eventually, it would work for a couple of days before failing once more. Recently, I took it apart to check, but it still trips when I leave the desk. I didn’t do any heavy tasks when it failed, just simple browsing with VS Code open. The most recent attempt was to disconnect the PSU’s power pins—then it worked fine. I suspect the problem isn’t with the power supply at all. I also swapped in a Ryzen 5 2600 to test, which is fine and didn’t trip. That ruled out the CPU as the main issue. It seems the motherboard might be having trouble delivering power to the 5900X. I’m considering ordering a Gigabyte Aorus Pro X570S tomorrow to see if the problem persists. Do you have any experience with this? Have others noticed similar symptoms? Should I rule out a CPU failure before jumping to replace it?
