PC starts up but then becomes unresponsive after a short period.
Hey there, I hope this message finds you well. I just finished assembling my first desktop and am really pleased with how it turned out. It powered up immediately and stayed on without issues. After a few hours, I started a Windows 10 installation which unexpectedly froze on a black screen with a spinning wheel. Based on my experience, I thought a shutdown was the only solution, but it didn’t work. After some days of troubleshooting, I managed to get the system running again. Now, it still freezes hard for 10 to 30 seconds when I switch to the desktop. I’ve checked everything—connections, power cycles, and even a full shutdown reset—but nothing seems to fix it. I’m feeling a bit stuck and unsure where to begin fixing this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Your specs look solid: Intel I7 12700K, MSI B760 motherboard, Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-5200 CL40, NVMe SSD, ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4070, and a few case fans. The warning lights flashing during launch are unusual—should I investigate that too? Thanks for your help!
The system now shows a previous malfunction when powered on. Nothing appears on the screen and the keyboard fails to activate. The motherboard lights are present, but disassembling hasn't resolved the problem.
