My children's PC is shutting down unexpectedly. Recently, during a test, he could play a Steam game for about an hour before it refused to start again. After some time, we tried to boot it up once more but it shut down right away. Sometimes it takes 10 to 15 minutes before the PC stops working. I'm looking for possible causes and solutions. The machine has been running nonstop as a home office PC for about 4 to 5 years, and it was built by me.

Details of the build:
Gigabyte a320m-s2h
Ryzen 2600x
32 GB RAM
1TB SSD
GTX 1070
High Current Gamer Gold Series 850W
Windows 11

Random reboots or shutdowns usually stem from two problems:
1. The CPU/GPU gets too hot and the system stops to avoid damage.
2. The PSU doesn’t provide enough power to the GPU or maintains unstable voltage for the PC.
First, check your CPU/GPU temperatures, both when idle and under load. If they’re normal, it’s likely the PSU is the issue.
So, the PC hasn’t been properly maintained? Meaning no internal dust cleaning?
🙄
Why?

I will look into some more about the temperatures. I've been very satisfied with this PSU and thought it would be the final part to fail. No PC is good, well-maintained and quite clean. I used to blow my PCs clean occasionally—I don't like dusty, dirty components.

The PSU OEM is Seasonic, but two of the test samples did not work. That's not a good sign.

When I mentioned the pc was running 24/7, it wasn't a continuous runtime. It experienced occasional restarts.

It's concerning that two review samples failed. Please initiate an RMA and request a replacement. We'll see how this turns out.

The problem was related to the High Current Gamer PSU. The importer provided a replacement since it was still under warranty. I chose the new Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 850W Gold as a substitute. I accepted the offer and everything worked again. Thanks for noticing the PSU.

I already reviewed it before deciding on the unit. It seems suitable for me, and I'm quite satisfied with the agreement as a replacement for a 7-year-old model.
