PC shuts down unexpectedly even when not playing.
Hello, I purchased this preassembled PC last year from a friend. It has been experiencing freezing issues occasionally—sometimes a few times a day, other times none at all. It happens while streaming, browsing, being idle, or playing games. To bring it back to life, I have to press the power button repeatedly. Once it restarts, everything functions normally again. The machine is an Acer Nitro N50-600. I’ve tried fixing it by reinstalling the OS, resetting BIOS settings, removing Nitro Sense, updating drivers, running SFC/Scannow, and using disk check commands. All temperatures are normal after stress tests lasting several hours. My system specs are: Intel i5 9400F, RTX 2060, 8GB RAM (DDR4-2666), Western Digital 512GB NVMe SSD, 500W power supply, Acer Nitro N50-600 (DCH) motherboard, Intel B360 chipset. It came with Windows 10, but I’m now using Windows 11. I’m struggling to identify the problem despite all troubleshooting steps. My friend had the same issue and sold it to me because I assumed it was a simple fix.
You asked about the installation method and whether Windows logs any activity after freezing. It seems you're curious about data retention during reinstallation and what the Event Log records post-freeze.
Yes, most logs only mention the "unexpected shutdown" or similar entries.
