PC shuts down unexpectedly
Hey guys, I’m having an issue,
my PC shuts down (and restarts) at completely unpredictable times, without any warning. It occurs around three times a day, whether I’m using it or idling. It just turns off completely.
At first, I assumed the power supply unit was the problem, so I replaced it, but that didn’t help. Then I swapped out the RAMs, but the same thing happened. I’ve reinstalled my PC several times, tried different versions (Revios, Atlas), installed and uninstalled all the drivers, but nothing changed.
It can shut down about five minutes after turning on the computer or when I’m just watching YouTube. I don’t think it’s related to the PSU or overheating (the temperatures seem normal). It’s completely random, and I’m not sure what’s causing it.
Here are my specs:
Intel i7-8700 @ 3.20Ghz but mostly runs at 4.29Ghz (~37 °C idle || ~5 years old || thermal paste was changed 2 years ago)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (~38 °C idle || ~3 years old)
TUF B360M-Plus Gaming (TZ00 ~27.8°C, Mainboard ~33°C || ~5 years old)
Some random Coolermaster watercooling
2 Kingston SSDs
(About the PSU I’m not sure but it’s over 700W and gold certified, so I think it’s sufficient)
If you completely ignore temperature or voltage concerns, then the only likely cause is malware.
Considering your limited understanding of your PSU, I believe it's a PSU-related problem.
Important details to note:
PSU make and model (or part number) – what is it?
Age of the PSU – was it new or used/refurbished?
Replacement PSU make and model (or part number) – same information?
Check the GTX 1660 on the system, which reduces the load on the PSU. Connect your monitor to MoBo and see if problems disappear.
If they do, the issue is either with the GPU or the PSU.
If not, investigate further in areas like CPU, motherboard, RAM, or PSU.

There are very few options when you have detailed knowledge of PSUs. One of the top 700W models is the Seasonic PRIME Fanless TX-700, with specifications available at the provided link. It features 80+ Titanium, a 12-year warranty, and 0 dB(A) noise levels. It’s hard to beat these qualities. However, chances of someone who actually knows it being an OP purchasing it are minimal. I’ll ask again: if you don’t recognize the make/model, take a photo of the label showing the rail output and upload it here via Imgur.
Good information. It's mostly an outlier since, as you noted, the chances of the OP having it are very low.
