I've been attempting to use the latest Call of Duty game, but my computer frequently shuts down unexpectedly. It can occur instantly or after hours of play. The screen goes dark, sound cuts off, yet the internal lights remain lit. My system specs are: Windows 11, Intel 9900k, Radeon 6900xt, 850W power supply. I assumed the issue was with the power source, so I upgraded to a 1000W supply. I adjusted game settings and resolution, lowered power limits in AMD settings, reduced maximum frequency by 150MHz. Temperatures are normal and not overheating. This problem still happens only in this game, even though I've played other Call of Duty titles with the same hardware before.

This problem typically involves temperature or power concerns. What is the make and model of your power supply? A low-quality unit might be the cause, or if it's old, it could simply be failing. Check your temperatures, use HWMonitor to report idle and load temps (while gaming or stress testing), and note any overheating signs.

The 850-watt power supply is the EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GT, while the upgraded 1000-watt model is the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 GT

Games require significantly more power from your CPU and GPU, producing a lot of heat compared to normal activities. Without adequate cooling, parts may overheat and cause the system to shut down to avoid harm.

In CoD unlocked games can cause the GPU to overheat, leading to shutdowns to avoid damage. This results in the PC becoming unusable since restarting the entire system is the only way to begin using the GPU.

It seems like you're referring to a situation involving a driver crash and asking about DDU. Could you clarify what you mean?
