Hello everyone. I purchased some components yesterday for a new PC setup, but it won’t boot. All fans are spinning and only one white LED is lit. It’s labeled as the designated CPU. I initially thought it might be a power problem since 650W should suffice, but I’m concerned something is wrong with the CPU itself. I placed it correctly, confirmed the thermal paste was applied, and attached an image for reference. Could anyone assist? The specs are: MSI B450 - A PRO MAX Ryzen 5 3600, Corsair 650W PSU, 500GB Samsung SSD, 1x Corsair 16GB DDR4 RAM, GPU: MSI 1660 Ventus Super.

It should function properly as it states on the packaging it is compatible. "3000 series ready" indicates suitability.

They usually just add a fresh logo to a package without changing the software, though it works fine.

Consider updating via USB if you're comfortable, otherwise a more compatible motherboard might be better.

You can easily upload a BIOS file by following the instructions provided: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/...#down-bios

The issue isn't starting into BIOS, just a black screen with fans running and bright light. The keyboard also fails to activate when connected to the PC. Updated March 18, 2020 by Amarzard

The board must allow BIOS upgrades even without a boot, by storing the update file on a USB drive and connecting it to the correct slot. Follow the instructions in the guide.
