PC setup experiences significant delays in online connectivity.
I just completed assembling my new PC last night and everything appears functional. After watching several YouTube tutorials, I performed a speed test. Typically I see about 150 Mbps download and similar upload speeds. The test returned 16 Mbps download and only 0.01 Mbps upload. I checked for driver updates that might affect this. I reviewed background applications and turned off any unused ones. My old PC was still connected via the same Ethernet cable, so it shouldn’t be a network problem. Since I’m using Ethernet, I also disabled Wi-Fi to ensure both aren’t active simultaneously. Any suggestions on what might be causing this and how to resolve it? The motherboard model is an Asus ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming Board LGA1151.
If it's brand new, there could be updates or downloads active behind the scenes. Launch your task manager to keep an eye on your internet speed while you run another speed test to ensure they're performing adequately.
Get the newest LAN driver file. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG..._Download/ Verify your BIOS, Chipset, and Firmware drivers are current too. Restart your router and modem.
Hello! I haven't installed any ASUS software yet, but I can help you with anti-virus options and QoS configuration for your router. Let me know what you need!
I attempted that process but the .exe inside the extracted zip didn't respond. I also tried restarting, yet the problem persisted.
No ASUS software has been applied. The only active program is Windows Defender. The router doesn’t have a QoS service enabled.
