PC semi crash
PC semi crash
Recently (past month or so), my keyboard, mouse, and display will shut off while I am playing games. The screen will turn a solid color (usually black) and sometimes I will hear the audio lock up. Then the display, keyboard and mouse will turn off but the PC itself will stay on. I have tried to let it sit but it does not reset, I have shifted around my RAM slots, changed my GPUs slot and completely reassembled my PC but no clue as to why this is happening. It primarily seems to happen whilst gaming, though very rarely (1/10 times) not. I have not changed any of my hardware, and the only software change would be upgrading from Win 10 to 11.

Power Settings set to High Performance with Default options
What power unit do you have? You might be dealing with one of several options—bad PSU, failing GPU, overheating CPU or GPU, or possibly Windows power-saving settings. Try adjusting the power settings to high performance to check if it improves things. Then consider using tools like Hwmonitor (https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.htm) to monitor voltages and temperatures while gaming or using the PC. Look for any unusual readings in the motherboard, GPU, CPU, and voltages within the same program.
The updated message includes all required details. I have reset all UEFI settings back to defaults to confirm nothing was changed. The system remained active for more than an hour without any problems, similar to regular program execution. Crashes only occur during gameplay, then resume smoothly afterward. I downloaded hwmonitor but am unsure what specific issues I should be checking for, as the inconsistency makes it hard to determine when to investigate further. While a game crash can happen mid-play and then restart without issues, the pattern is unpredictable.
Located the issue, changed my existing GPU for an old one from my Apt list to check if my PC would still fail. When I did that, I noticed two burned cells on the GPU, which seems to be the cause. I hadn’t experienced crashes with the older GPU when running certain unstable programs that usually crash the new one. Appreciate the assistance!
