Hey! I've been facing this challenge intermittently for some time now. I'll go over the details, how often it happens, and my own theories. My setup includes an R7 3700X, a Gigabyte B450M DS3H v2 motherboard, the Gigabyte Eagle RTX 3070 Ti, four 8-pin DDR4 modules at 3200 MHz, a Team 1TB NVMe TM8FP4001T drive (boot disk), and a two-terabyte SanDisk SSD Plus as a secondary storage. The power supply is a Seasonic Focus GX 750 PSU, which is a refurbished unit from a reliable seller.

The issue: whenever I power on from a clean shutdown, the PC boots up fully—lights and fans activate, monitor wakes up—but then everything freezes for a second before resuming normal operation. This happens both after a full restart into UEFI/BIOS from Windows and during regular restarts, even when I didn’t trigger an abnormal shutdown like a crash or sudden power drop. Once the video reaches its end, it restarts normally.

The pattern is consistent over long periods, but also occurs during brief normal cycles. I initially thought it might have been resolved by an update a few months ago, since the problem seemed to disappear. However, it has reappeared recently, which is quite bothersome.

My main suspect: the memory setup. I’m using four 8-pin DDR4 modules at 3200 MHz, purchased separately months apart. They’re identical, but there might be a slight difference causing instability. I’ve had past problems with this configuration using the default XMP profile, but swapping the sticks in different configurations (like 2x8 vs 4x8) resolved the issue, as confirmed by extensive memtest64 tests.

I’m considering that removing all but one stick might have been the solution, but I haven’t tried it yet. I’ll revisit this after reading your post and let you know the outcome.

Other thoughts: my PSU is a second-hand 750W unit from a trusted seller, which worked fine before. Even new units can have quirks, so I’m open to the idea of a BIOS update being involved. I recall thinking about this after upgrading to ReBar support, but I never pushed it further. I’m currently running BIOS vF64 versus vF66, and I’m curious if that’s relevant.

Anyone else has encountered this before? It’s not a major deal, but it’s definitely annoying and might be wearing out my system.
