PC requires over an hour to initialize BIOS settings
Laptop from Lenovo, model number 4 years old: Lenovo IdeaPad5 15ARE05, running Windows 10 64bit BIOS. Windows updates are current, but the device remains stuck during startup. Description: The machine takes more than an hour to power on. Occasionally it lights up the power LED and then hangs for up to 24 hours before booting normally again. Sometimes it stays frozen. I’ve removed the SSD, but the system won’t enter BIOS. After some time it works fine. I tried restarting only after shutdown or putting it to sleep, but issues persist. The laptop also freezes during video playback and its clock drifts even when powered on for a few minutes. CMOS battery replacement didn’t help. No other anomalies detected. Hardware and software checks from Lenovo found nothing unusual. I’m seeking advice.
Yes, open Task Manager and check the Performance tab for boot time displayed in the top right corner.
I verified the timing in Bios, which displayed 2.5 seconds despite the actual duration being much higher. Additionally, I noticed that not interacting with the labtop caused it to reboot automatically.
