PC remains locked in BIOS setup, unable to reach Windows following the VGA installation.
My system details are: Intel i3 10105F, MSI H510m-A Pro, Skhynix 8Gb, 2666Mhz EVGA 550, 80+ Bronze, PNY 256gb NVMe M.2, Windows 10. THE WHOLE STORY I was running GTX 1050 Ti for about two years before upgrading. After that, I swapped it with an Asrock RX 6600 XT, checked all the specs and confirmed the PSU could handle the power. I followed the steps: turned off the PC, unplugged the PSU cable, removed the old GPU and installed the new one. The setup was tidy—no driver removal or AMD updates, just swapped the VGA and reconnected everything. When I restarted, it worked smoothly. Then I encountered issues: the PC wouldn’t boot, stuck on a spinning Windows dots screen, repeated restarts failed, and eventually hit “Preparing Automatic Repair.” After that, reinstalling the old VGA caused the same problem—still stuck on the rotating dots and no boot. Even though I’d been using it normally for hours, these glitches persisted. I tried several fixes online: changing CMOS battery, clearing CMOS, switching boot mode to CMS, updating BIOS, and reinstalling Windows. Nothing resolved the issue.
Consider connecting the monitor straight to the motherboard, then download the correct driver from the official site. Turn off the computer completely, ensuring it isn’t in any sleep mode. If uncertain, simply remove the power source, wait a few minutes, and then restore it. This process shouldn’t damage the system. Reattach the monitor to the graphics card and restart; everything should function properly.
