My PC stopped working recently without any hardware changes. I checked that the GPU, storage, RAM, and power supply function correctly with other components, which helped focus the problem on the motherboard and CPU. I returned the motherboard to Gigabyte, who confirmed testing and sent it back. After replacing the CPU via RMA, the issue persists: LEDs and fans activate intermittently, video output fails, and the system powers off every 30 seconds with brief fan/LED cycles. Troubleshooting lights on the motherboard suggest a DRAM problem. I'm still trying to resolve this by checking RAM and other parts, but it seems like a motherboard fault. Would you recommend replacing the board? Here are the specs: CPU – AMD Ryzen 3700X (no overclocking), Motherboard – Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO AC, RAM – G.Skill Aegis 2x8 GB at 3000 MHz, GPU – MSI GeForce 1060 3 GB, PSU – Corsair CX 600 W 80+ Bronze.

Did you check the memory on other devices? Running it through MemTest86 might help. If not, it could be useful to do so. Also, I’m assuming you couldn’t get a POST on any stick in slot A2. Since it’s a Gigabyte model, past reports suggest issues with certain Gamers Nexus or New Egg boards—so it might be their fault if we blame them.

I didn’t run MemTest86 and I’m unable to reinstall it on my roommate’s machine right now. However, I did test each stick separately in slot A2 before, and I’ll try it again with the new CPU. That’s what I was considering. I’ve also noticed some minor problems with this board—like USB ports not working—and I won’t be choosing Gigabyte again anytime soon. Thanks for your assistance!
