I built my second PC after eight years. It was functioning well in Windows 11 when I first started downloading apps. After returning, it shut down completely and won’t turn back on. I attempted to reattach everything except the CPU, but it still won’t boot. The motherboard passed the LED startup test initially, but now does nothing when I press the power button and there are no fans spinning. The motherboard has no power indicators, though the GPU lights up if connected without a power connector.

My components include:
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz, 6-core processor
- Asus ROG STRIX B650-A Gaming ATX AM5 motherboard
- Patriot Viper Black 16 GB DDR5-5200 CL36 memory
- Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVMe SSD
- Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB video card
- Corsair RM750 750 W, 80+ Gold certified, fully modular ATX power supply

Diagnosis steps I took:
- Reseated RAM and graphics card; booted without GPU.
- Removed CMOS to reset BIOS.
- Tried jump-starting the motherboard but it didn’t respond.
- Performed a paperclip test on the PSU.
- Attempted booting with minimal connections to the motherboard.
- Adjusted CPU fan settings; initially fixed but then failed again.
- Replaced CPU fan but still no power.
- Tried reseating the CPU and other components.

I’m hoping someone can offer some guidance or suggestions, even if I’ve tried everything.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! How are you managing the cooling for that processor in your build? It might help to reduce pressure on the motherboard and see if it improves things. If that doesn't resolve the issue, consider removing the CPU from the socket and checking for any swelling on the underside of the processor. You may also want to keep the board manufacturer and your seller's information handy in case you need to file a return or replacement.
