Hello! I'm trying to understand why my PC keeps freezing, whether I'm playing games or just watching a show. The fans seem fine most of the time, but sometimes it freezes for hours or even just a few minutes. After installing new fans, thermal paste, and an SSD, and making sure all cables are properly connected, the issue still persists. Here are the details:

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550-E GAMING
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
GPU: ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 TUF Gaming OC V2
CPU cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO SL DDR4 3200Mhz 32GB
SSD/HDD: WD BLACK SN750 SE M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB / Kingston KC3000 M.2 2TB SSD
PSU: ASUS ROG Strix 1000W
Chassis: Cooler Master Masterbox TD500 Mesh
OS: Windows 11
Monitor: AOC 27G2G3

Could you clarify if they were purchased as a single package or two individual sticks?

While working through the diagnostic steps, I considered whether this was a brand new Windows installation from a USB on a formatted drive or a continuation of an older system with a refresh install. If it’s a fresh install, proceed with the instructions below. If it’s an existing setup, back up your data and install a clean copy of Windows on a formatted partition or drive. The key questions are now clear.

The first step I’d attempt is to slightly increase the memory voltage.

Next, execute a full memory test. Create a bootable USB to remove Windows from consideration. This process will require an overnight check using multiple test patterns.

Memtest86+ | An open-source memory testing tool
Memtest86+ is a sophisticated, free, open-source, standalone memory tester designed for 32- and 64-bit systems (supports UEFI and BIOS).

thank you for your kind words. i need to attempt the memory test, and it seems this would be a windows installation.

I experienced some freezing problems, though not as severe as yours. It seems there are a couple of similarities between us, mainly in AMD and the RAM we use. We both have similar, possibly identical, RAM.
