I built my new PC recently and it seems setup isn’t going smoothly. The Ryzen 5 7600 MSI B650M Mortar Wifi with BIOS 7D76vA4 is connected to Gigabyte AORUS 32 GB DDR5-5200 CL40 RAM, paired with an MSI VENTUS 3X OC GeForce RTX 4070 and a 12 GB Corsair RM850e 850W power supply. The system uses Crucial P3 Plus M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs (two x 6 GB) and a Corsair 4000D Airflow thermal cooler with four Noctua fans. RGB lighting is controlled via CORSAIR Lighting Node PRO.

Front fans are connected to SYS_FAN3 using Noctua NA-SYC1 4-pin splitters, while the two top case fans plug into SYS_FAN1 with a Noctua Y splitter. The BIOS setup has two issues: first, changing memory settings in BIOS prevents booting; even after saving an XMP profile, the fans don’t activate. Only the yellow debug LED lights up, indicating no DRAM detection or failure. Clearing CMOS restores normal operation but causes the RAM to run at 4800MHz.

Second, adjusting case fan curves in BIOS causes a brief startup followed by freezing or shutdown—no blue screen appears. In BIOS Hardware Monitor, PWM is selected and curves for SYS_FAN1 and SYS_FAN3 are tweaked, but the PC freezes again.

Third, the system won’t wake from sleep. It enters sleep mode when desired, but upon waking it responds by increasing fan speeds while showing only red (CPU not detected) and yellow (DRAM) LED lights. A hard reboot is required.

I’ve already returned the motherboard for replacement. The problem appears to be related to RAM, possibly a compatibility or configuration issue. I’m unsure if it’s a PSU, CPU, or BIOS fault. Please advise.

This appears to be a fresh Windows update. Check the updated beta BIOS listed here (7D76vA62) which addresses memory problems with EXPO. Make sure your chipset drivers are current. You can view your chipset details in Windows settings, under apps and installed apps. If you're using Chocolatey for installations, it’s a good option to try.

I changed the BIOS to the newest beta release, refreshed the chipset driver, and even experimented with a different DDR5 module. The issue still exists... I’m unsure how to proceed. I’m thinking about reverting to Intel.
